Aluminium 6061 Angles are extruded from Al–Mg–Si alloy 6061, typically containing magnesium 0.8–1.2%, silicon 0.4–0.8%, and controlled amounts of copper, chromium, and other trace elements to enhance strength and toughness through heat treatment. In the T6/T6511 temper commonly used for structural angles, typical mechanical properties include tensile strength around 290–310 MPa, yield strength roughly 240–275 MPa, elongation about 8–12%, and modulus of elasticity near 69–70 GPa. The alloy offers good fatigue resistance, excellent weldability, and good response to anodizing and coatings, making these angles suitable for long-term service in outdoor, industrial, and marine environments.
